I didn't know what to expect when I first joined the graduate programme with Quinn Direct Insurance back in September 2005. When you join the programme, you soon realise the culture is one of professionalism and success, as everyone works hard to achieve their individual goals and those of the group as a whole. And this hard work doesn't go unnoticed, as better performers are rewarded through the company's bonus scheme. You won't find this incentive in many other companies! At the same time the atmosphere is relaxed and it's an enjoyable place to work.
The programme interested me because it gives you the opportunity to gain experience in a number of different areas within the vast business of insurance. The placements I have had in Underwriting and Credit Control have been very different giving me a wide variety of skills and an overview of how the company works as a whole. As a graduate, you're exposed to a broader set of initiatives and projects than would otherwise be the case.
The graduate programme is designed to support members towards their ACII qualification. As most of the other graduates and other colleagues are also doing exams, there is always someone to complain with about doing assignments and studying! No matter where I have worked, I have had a warm welcome and the support I have received from all levels has continued.
